Ahmer Arif brings with him years of valuable experience in the sphere of trade & investment development. Having worked previously as Deputy Director, UK Trade & Investment Pakistan, he is considered to be a leading expert in this area.
Ahmer has over 6 years of experience of working in Pakistan and UK’s private and public sectors and has a good understanding on how the public and private sectors operate and can partner to create sustainable business solutions. His experience in trade development, policy advocacy and his qualifications in Accounting and Economics put him in a great position to understand the ‘bigger picture’.
Ahmer began his professional career at Allied Bank and then moved to the Pakistan Business Council (PBC). At the PBC Ahmer was responsible for research and policy development, working with local businesses and Government departments to recommend and lobby policy amendments to improve the business environment of Pakistan. He has gained extensive knowledge in the areas of Public Private Partnerships, Competition Law and Group Taxation law. He also has a good knowledge of various sectors and industries like Agriculture, Energy, Infrastructure Development and Financial Services. Further he served as the Company Secretary for the PBC. Ahmer then moved to work for the UK Trade & Investment Pakistan leading a team of individual working to improve the export of British products in Pakistan. Ahmer has also been involved in many initiatives to improve the image of Pakistan in the UK.
